Membership Information

Echelon Portland is a group of dynamic, young professionals who display a heart to help The Salvation Army mobilize the next generation. Members will accomplish this by:
  • Monthly volunteer opportunities to serve Portland through all 9 core programs including the West Women’s and Children’s Center, The Salvation Army Female Emergency Shelter (SAFES) and other Salvation Army Centers across the Portland area.
  • Fostering and maintaining a strong relationship with The Salvation Army Portland Advisory Board.
  • Being eager and willing to dedicate time to furthering the organization’s cause and fulfilling the group’s goals by working together as a team.
  • Hosting events like The Story Slam, Kickball Tournament, Ugly Sweater Party and Back2School shopping.
  • Recruiting friends and colleagues, who show strong morals, character, enthusiasm and a passion to serve, allowing us further our reach of “Doing the Most Good”
     

     

VOLUNTEER

  • Monthly volunteer opportunities with The Salvation Army and/or Echelon
  • Sign up to receive newsletter and invitations
  • Recruit friends and colleagues who show strong morals, character, enthusiasm and a passion to serve, allowing Echelon to further its reach of "Doing the Most Good"
  • No financial contribution expected, but it is encouraged.  Your support helps fund Echelon's outreach in "Doing the Most Good" through The Salvation Army's programs in the Portland Metro Area
  • No cost for volunteer participation

COUNCIL MEMBER

  • Monthly volunteer opportunities with The Salvation Army and/or Echelon
  • Sign up to receive newsletter and invitations
  • Recruit friends and colleagues who show strong morals, character, enthusiasm and a passion to serve, allowing Echelon to further its reach of "Doing the Most Good"
  • Attend monthly meetings to help plan and coordinate The Salvation Army Echelon Portland's outreach to the community
  • Financial contribution encouraged to support Echelon's community outreach through The Salvation Army's Portland Metro programs
  • Opportunity to become a Member Captain and host/run your own event with Board Approval.
  • Individuals: commitment of $25 donation annually // Couples: commitment of $40 donation annually   

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER

  • Monthly volunteer opportunities with The Salvation Army and/or Echelon
  • Foster and maintain a strong relationship with The Salvation Army Portland Metro Advisory Board (A group of business and community leaders in greater PDX).
  • Be eager and willing to dedicate time to furthering the organization's cause and fulfilling the group's goals by working together as a team.
  • Host events like The Story Slam, Kickball Tournament, Ugly Sweater Party, and Back2School Shopping.
  • Recruit friends and colleagues who show strong morals, character, enthusiasm and a passion to serve, allowing Echelon to further its reach of "Doing the Most Good"
  • Expected Annual Contribution to The Salvation Army and the Echelon's work in the community
  • Must be nominated and approved by majority vote of the Executive Board
  • Individuals: commitment of $25 donation annually // Couples: commitment of $40 donation annually
