The Salvation Army marks the re-launch of Echelon’s Chicago Chapter
After a multi-year hiatus, the Chicago Chapter of Echelon is back.
Months of planning and coordination paid off as The Salvation Army brought sixty attendees together in the official Echelon kickoff event in the heart of Chicago.
Young professionals from across the city gathered, mingled, and networked with established leaders in business and philanthropy as they learned about the importance of giving back to the community.
“We’re so excited to re-engage with young professionals across the city,” Major Caleb Senn, Chicago Area Commander, said. “These future leaders are well positioned to guide business and industry in Chicago, and we’re thrilled to walk with them on their journey. Engagement with Echelon is just the beginning of a partnership that will benefit our community for years to come.”
It’s Echelon’s goal to mobilize the next generation for The Salvation Army by providing opportunities for young adults to engage with the organization through fellowship and networking, donations and fundraising, and service and volunteering.
“I am so excited for Echelon to start back up again in Chicago,” event attendee Grace Sylvester said. “It was amazing to meet so many ambitious young professionals who believe in the mission of The Salvation Army and are ready to help make a positive difference in our community.”
Echelon members participate in various networking, volunteer, and fundraising activities to support Salvation Army services within the community. Whether volunteering or attending a social event, Echelon is a community of people making a difference.
“The Echelon kickoff event was a great way to connect with like-minded young professionals, learn from executive leaders about the value of being involved with an organization like the Salvation Army, and find new and engaging ways to give back to the community we live and work in,” event attendee Michael Giron said. “While most everyone is familiar with the importance of the Salvation Army, many folks, including myself, are not aware of the extensive impact the organization has on the communities it serves and the value it brings to those who volunteer.”
Attendees enjoyed catered food and beverages, but more importantly, got to hear from Chicago Advisory Board members Gary Ballenger, Phillip Kim, and Philip Maziarz about the importance and responsibility of Echelon.
“What an incredible evening,” Gary Ballenger, Chicago Advisory Board member, said. “So many great young leaders and volunteers. Can’t wait to see what we can all do together in the days ahead!”
